What is Web Design?
As you all know, I wrote another article about web design. Some of you might know, but some might not, so I’m gonna explain what the definition of Web Design is.
Web Design refers to the design of websites that are displayed on the internet. It usually refers to the user experience aspects of website development rather than software development.
As for software development, it refers to a set of computer science activities dedicated to the process of creating, designing, deploying, and supporting software.
Web Designer
- A web designer works on the appearance, related to the colors, font, and images used.
- The layout which refers to how information is structured and categorized.
- Content of a website.
A good web page should be easy to use and pleasing to look at. Most importantly suits the user group and the brand of any website. The aim is to design with a focus on simplicity, so as to no extra information and functionality distracts or confuses the user.
Common Methods for Designing
- Responsive Design
- Adaptive Design
In responsive design, content moves dynamically depending on screen size meaning, if you restore down your tab, the design should be in that size, vice versa.
In adaptive design, the website content should be fixed the layout in such a size that it matches the common screen size depending on the size of your phone/ laptop.
A responsive design may be difficult to handle, but designers must be careful in getting back control of how the work will appear. Even though they may need to broaden their skill set, they will enjoy having the advantage of full control of the finished product.
